To qualify you must have been in your current business for a minimum of two years.
Is your company competitive? Which area of your business are you concerned about? Is your marketing and sales performing as well as you would like? Are your Human Relations policies in good shape? Is your accounting system adequate and efficient? How well is your business plan working for you? All these, and other business areas, can be assessed by our team. You can determine if you need to bolster specific functions within your organization. If desired, one of our assessors will provide continuing counseling for up to 3 months in a given area to help implement suggestions from the assessment.
To request an assessment, make your request to your local participating Chamber of Commerce and fill out a Form 641. Your request will be reviewed and, if approved, Santa Cruz SCORE will set up a program including an initial interview and an initial assessment. The initial assessment will take about 1-½ hours. Additional counseling sessions, where we will give you suggestions for strengthening your business, can be arranged at your site or other agreed site. The process, including counseling sessions, can be expected to take approximately three months, depending on the issues. You receive written documentation for every meeting with a SCORE counselor, including the final session. Remember that the first assessment session is free to you as are all of our SCORE counseling services. In addition we provide low cost, practical business workshops and seminars.
